As spring started creeping in a few weeks ago, I took one look at my 6 year old rain boots from Target and decided it was time for a change. I’ve heard really good things about Hunter rain boots but man oh man are they pricey. For a girl who waits on $10 sales from Shoedazzle, there was no way I’d drop $80 on a pair of rain boots. (And that’s on sale)
Somehow I stumbled upon a brand called Joules on Zulily and was instantly in love with the patterns. I’ve never been a flashy person, but for some reason, floral prints just do it for me. Then I saw them… the Navy Botanical & Stripe Welly Rain Boot.
Sometimes you see something that just speaks to you, whether its a yearly planner, an elephant figurine or a pair of rain boots. Not only do they have an extensive selection of rain boots for Women, they also have a kids line of rain boots with patterns just as unique, and matching clothing items.
So I got the Navy Botanical & Stripe Welly Rain Boot by Joules for myself and a dark blue with white stars pair for my 5 year old daughter, which she picked out herself. I was so excited when they arrived but was unfortunately very disappointing when I tried them on, the button on the back that’s supposed to adjust the width of the boot in the back, was not glued very well and unsnapped as soon as I started walking.
I immediately contacted Zulily’s customer service, asking for a return shipping label. What I was told, I was not expecting. Zulily immediately refunded the cost of the boots (which were like $50), without asking me to ship them back, and gave me an additional $5 credit in my account for future purchases. I mean, bravo Zulily. Seriously.
So what did I do with these beautiful but defective boots. Super glue to the rescue!!! So now I have a really dang cute pair of rain boots I got for free and Zulily got a customer for life.
FYI – if you shop at Zulily through ebates, you get a percentage of your purchase back. The amount always changes but I’ve seen it go up as high as 15% cash back. That’s pretty awesome.
